Corner of white by Jaclyn Moriarty--5 stars

This story is all about these two kids who are trying to discover who they are.  Even though they are both from different places, they have a common ground.

I like how the author used different perspectives until the characters “meet.”  It shows that you don’t have to communicate by talking—you can communicate with letters, too!  I can’t wait for the sequel.

Primates: the fearless science of Jane Goodall, Dian Fossey, and Birute Galdikas by Jim Ottaviani & Maris Wicks--5 stars

The work of these women, especially Jane Goodall, inspired me.  This book captured everything in such a splendid way….  As a visual learner, I loved how they chose to put the story in graphic novel form, making it so you could almost feel like you were there, in the action.
